What is World Travel Market?
Held annually in London under one roof, World Travel Market is a must attend, business to business exhibition that provides a unique opportunity for the whole global travel trade industry to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business. It is a unique opportunity to meet vital buyer contacts. It is staged in the Excel Centre in the Docklands area of London over four days in early November.
In 2011 there were over 47,500 participants at WTM, with over 5,000 exhibitors from 189 countries and regions represented, and over 26,000 total visitors during the four days. More than 2,600 international press attended.
RMI attends with a booth in the Discover America Pavilion. We invite co-exhibitors to attend and offer an opportunity to share our booth at a reduced cost.
Appointments are made in advance by our UK office and walk ups appear as well. We meet with trade and media. RMI personnel and state reps are available during the show to provide general or more detailed information about the region to international trade and media visitors.
RMI provides participants with a detailed report of the show along with leads of each meeting held. These leads are provided within 15 days after the conclusion of the show.
When and Where is it held?
WTM dates for 2012 are November 5-8. The booth is set up by RMI staff on Sunday and show opening day is Monday. Thursday is traditionally a slow day and for the past several years the state reps have not attended on Thursday, but have opted to do trainings for tour operators in the London area instead. However, RMI staff still man the booth on Thursday. The show generally runs from 10am until 6 pm each day.
What is the Cost to Participate?
The cost to share RMI’s booth is $3,900 per company. Transportation, meals and hotel costs are additional. Registration information will be made available closer to the show deadline in late summer 2012.
What is included in the Registration fee?
- Booth space
- Registration for WTM (badges, signage, WTM catalog and database listings)
- Coordination of accommodations
- Pre-WTM orientation
- Implementation of an extensive lead-share program and follow up report
- Arrangement of appointments between suppliers and tour operators when possible
- Cross-selling of products available in the booth to tour operators
- Ground support staff service
Your presence in the regional booth vastly increases your opportunities to meet with tour wholesalers, tour operators, travel agents, airline representatives, journalists and guidebook authors.
By attending World Travel Market, participants efficiently, effectively and productively gain immediate competitive advantage for their business and stay abreast with the latest developments in the travel industry.
